Event details
Finalists will compete in a common area, with a teacher checking digits. To be a finalist, you must place in the top 5 of your grade (K–6), or top 5 of Grade 7/8, or top 5 of Grades 9–12 during the qualifiers.
Rules
- Be courteous and respectful. This is a fun event—unkindness will not be tolerated.
- Students get 3 “strikes”. A strike only counts if the teacher must stop and correct you. If you self-correct immediately (e.g., “3.14159, 897— I mean 26535”), no strike.
- Teachers will pause before confirming digits to allow quick self-corrections.
- If you pause for more than 30 seconds, you’ll be prompted to continue; otherwise it counts as a strike.
- We count decimal digits only: for example, 3.14 counts as 2 digits.
Prizes
To be determined.
Note: All records below count decimal digits (digits after the decimal point).
